PINCHBECK parish councillors past and present have paid a glowing tribute to a long-serving colleague who has stepped down after 25 years.
Judith Withyman was the centre of attention at Pinchbeck Adult Study Centre where she was presented with a framed citation in recognition of her years of service.
Six former council chairmen attended the tribute last Monday when Mrs Withyman was also given a bouquet of flowers, while her husband Roy received a bottle of wine.
Mrs Withyman said: “I felt it was a very nice gesture and they said such nice things, although I can’t think they were all true.
“It was very nice to have six past chairmen of the council there who each gave a little comment to say thank you to me.
“I’ve enjoyed my time on the council very much indeed and Pinchbeck has some really hard-working and determined people who have been lovely to work with.”
Current chairman Andrew Bowser said: “Judith has given distinguished service to the council for 25 years which, in itself, is quite incredible.”
