A SOUTH Holland businessman is in custody awaiting sentence after he was convicted of trying to bribe witnesses.
Michael Chinn (38), of Fendike Road, Weston Hills, was found guilty of perverting the course of justice after using another man to offer £5,000 each to two women - the victim and her friend - involved in a nightclub glassing case for which he was on trial.
A jury at Lincoln Crown Court heard the money was supposed to persuade them to “disappear” and not turn up at court to give evidence.
A second man, Luke Arons (32), of Monkshouse Lane, Spalding, who acted as the go between, had previosuly admitted perverting the course of justice.
He too is in custody awaiting sentence.
