NINE restaurant staff will lose their jobs tomorrow with the closure of Little Chef at Long Sutton.
The roadside restaurant chain announced a string of closures in January and the A17 restaurant was among those, although one at Sutterton roundabout is due to continue trading.
Long Sutton Parish Council chairman Coun John Clarey said: “It will be sad if it’s closing and not being re-let to somebody else within the industry.
“I know it probably wasn’t supported as much as it should have been, but you don’t like to see these places close really.
“It’s sad for people who work there and it’s sad for passing trade.
“Unless it’s re-let or sold, it will be another boarded up premises.”
A spokesman for Little Chef said the site has been sold but she could not comment on its likely future use.
