FOOD and generosity were both on the menu at Chequers in Gedney Dyke where staff hosted a charity hog roast for their guests.
About 80 people enjoyed a day of delicious food and live music from local band The Returns to raise money for Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
All the staff took part in organising the event by taking bookings and preparing the food, making the achievement of raising £1,230 on the day even more special.
Mike Binnington, head chef at Chequers, said: “It had been on the agenda to put together a nice charity event for some time and organising it was a real team effort.
“But we couldn’t decide which charity to support because Cancer Research UK and BHF are both very worthwhile causes, so we decided to split the money raised between both of them.
“Everyone was very happy on the day and we were glad to hit our fundraising target.”
