Police have been searching for a large bird which was reported to be on the loose in the Terrington St Clement area.
Officers were initially called at around 11am when a reah, an emu-type bird, was reported to be on a children’s playground on Station Road.
Further calls to Norfolk Police then suggested the bird had made its way onto the nearby A17.
Police spent more than 90 minutes searching for the bird, but called off the hunt at around 12.40pm without finding it.
A spokesman said a short time ago that it was unclear if the bird is still at large.
