THIS image of Spalding Gleed Girls’ School pupils performing in a play in 1957, submitted by Linda Walker, appeared in the Spalding Guardian in June.

Linda, of Long Sutton, remembered some of the girls taking part, but not all of them, and she asked if any readers knew the names of the girls in the picture.

Jane Roberts, of Oakley Drive in Spalding, was only seven years old when she saw the play but it made a strong impression on her.

She says: “It was Peter Pan and my sister, Margaret Sismey, was Tootles, the lost boy. Sadly she died when she was 21, but she was about 12 or 13 when she played in it. It was a marvellous production. I have remembered it all my life.”

Jane remembers the school caretaker, Charles Briggs, was involved in the production too.
