Tim Osborn’s dad Stephen says he is struggling to bury the anger he feels towards the driver who left his son for dead while he mourns.
He said: “I can’t even think about the driver at the moment.
“I am just holding the anger back to concentrate on grieving, but I know from the debris that whoever hit him, knew they had hit someone.
“That was blindingly obvious from the state of the bike and I know when the time comes I am going to be very angry, but I can’t deal with that just now.
“I don’t care if he had been drink-driving or didn’t have a licence, he has taken a young man’s life and destroyed our family.
“People don’t seem to value life any more so I will be very surprised if he does come forward.
“If he was going to, he would have done by now.
“But I hope the police catch him and if I had my way he would be done for murder.”
Stephen described his son as a happy-go-lucky person who would do anything in his power to help others.
He said: “He was the life and soul of the party.
“We know what a special person he was but only now are we finding out how special he was to so many other people.
“Reading some of the cards people have left at the scene makes you realise.”
He said Tim was an experienced and sensible cyclist and was wearing reflective clothing and had lights on his bike when he was hit on a well-lit, straight stretch of road.
He said: “He spent a lot of money on keeping the bike maintained and he loved being on his bike.
“There is no way the driver would not have seen him.”
