Police found a man who had been drinking sitting in the driver’s seat of a parked car with the keys in the ignition.
Stefan Vine (21), was in the car with friends in Stowgate Road, Deeping St James, in the early hours of September 30, Spalding magistrates heard.
Jim Clare, prosecuting, said Vine appeared to be under the influence of drink and there were bottles of alcohol in the car.
Vine blew 61 microgrammes of alcohol in a roadside test and then 62mcgs in a test at the police station – the legal limit is 35mcgs.
Vine, of Knight Close, Deeping St James, admitted being in charge of a vehicle while unfit through drink and received ten penalty points on his licence, which may mean his licence will be revoked by the DVLA as he has been driving for only 18 months. He was fined £145 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £15 victim surcharge.
Vine told the court he would lose his job if he lost his licence.
