‘You drove us out but don’t hurt dad’

A mum of four driven from her home in Whaplode now fears her father is being targeted by the same gang.

Joy Holden, husband Tim and their children were moved to Holbeach by South Holland District Council after a catalogue of incidents spanning more than three years, including having human faeces spread on their door.

Less than two weeks after leaving the village, Mrs Holden (41), said she received a call from her father, who had been battling in the wind and rain to secure his car after the back and nearside windows had been smashed by vandals.

Michael Woolman (75), said he was disturbed in the early hours of Wednesday morning at his home in Irby Crescent.

He said: “I was in bed and saw a figure pass the window.

“I looked through the curtains and noticed there were no raindrops on the back window of my car, which seemed strange because it was raining.

“I went out to have a look and the back window had gone and the nearside ones, too. It’s going to cost me £145 to fix because I only have third party insurance. That’s a big dent in my pension.”

Mrs Holden said: “My worry is they are starting on my dad now. He’s 75 and it’s not going to happen.

“With us it started with language, then eggs and mud. They even wiped faeces on our door.”

A spokesman for South Holland District Council said: “As a consequence of serious anti-social behaviour perpetrated by a family who are not council tenants, SHDC worked with partner agencies in supporting the move for the victims in
this case.

“A further related complaint of ASB is currently being investigated.

“We take all complaints of ASB seriously as the welfare of our tenants is paramount.”

A spokesman for Lincolnshire police said they had received a second complaint of window damage to a vehicle around the corner and it was unlikely the incident was linked to Mrs Holden’s case.
