Fright night came early for residents in Sutton Bridge who had settled in for the evening but were disturbed by a loud crack.
Police received four reports of attacks on homes on Wednesday night, between 7.30pm and 8.50pm.
Residents from King’s Street, Princes Street and Bridge Road alerted police that stones had been thrown at their windows, smashing them.
Sgt Stuart Hurst said that unfortunately the culprits had fled the scene by the time residents saw the windows had been smashed and alerted the police.
He said: “The police takes a dim view of anti-social behaviour and this type of Halloween act.
“The people responsible will be dealt with.”
Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in Sutton Bridge on Wednesday night is asked to call police on 101.
