Friday, 9am: A derelict pub in Cowbit has been seriously damaged by fire overnight.
Fire crews were called to Ye Olde Dun Cow, Barrier Bank, just before 3am today (Friday) and used a main jet and one hose reel to tackle the flames in the roof and first floor of the pub, which closed in March.
The cause of the fire has not been confirmed.
Trevor Tyrell, of Cowbit Parish Council, said: “The pub has been burned out completely. The roof has totally gone. It is a mess.”
