Individuals are being invited to get involved in a new project designed to create a community shed where they can get together, socialise and share skills.

The new Men’s Shed South Holland project seeks to create a shared space to work on individual or group projects in a friendly environment.

The next meeting is on Friday, March 31 at 2pm at Tonic Health, Broadgate House, Westlode Street, Spalding PE11 2AF, primarily to discuss how the group wants to proceed, where and when they meet – Men’s Shed projects nationally include a variety of different activities including woodwork, metalwork, repairs and gardening, so it is important that anyone interested in joining the group attend this meeting.

The group have met twice already, with representatives from the Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service, Tonic Health and South Holland District Council helping to shape the group and coordinate things in an attempt to get the project up and running, independent and self directed.

Anyone interested in finding out more, getting involved or helping to shape the project is invited to go along.

Find out more on Facebook: @menshedsouthholland or contact Tonic Health on 01775 725059.

The UK Men’s Shed Association website says: “They are places of skill-sharing and informal learning, of individual pursuits and community projects, of purpose, achievement and social interaction. A place of leisure where men come together to work.”
