Spalding businessman Matt Clark is the proud new owner of Boston’s iconic Assembly Rooms.
Mr Clark, who officially took over after completing the £465,000 purchase from Boston Borough Council on Monday, made immediate assurances to quell anxieties in some quarters about the future of the building.
Mr Clark, managing director of the Activ Group, said: “It’s natural for members of the public to have been concerned for these past few months about who the new owner might be and what they may have planned for the future of the building. Negotiations had to be kept private until their conclusion.
“I am delighted to be taking over the Assembly Rooms, a building I have admired from a distance for a long time.
“Ensuring that the people in the district remain proud of the building and it continues to form part of the community is of utmost importance to me, therefore we are hopeful of retaining as many community functions as possible.”
