You’re lucky if you live in or around Pinchbeck this wintry weather, even if you can’t get out to do your Christmas shopping elsewhere - the village is a quality shopping and service centre all on its own.
Since this summer Pinchbeck even has its own pharmacy, opened in August by pharmacist Ryszard Cygan who launched West Elloe Pharmacy next to the surgery in Spalding 17 years ago.
The new Knight Street Pharmacy has taken over what was previously a tanning shop in Pinchbeck’s main Knight Street.
In the same street, you can get festive meats at one of the county’s best independent butchers which draws customers from far and wide, fresh in-house baked bread and pastries from Homelea Bakery and the wherewithal to make and decorate your own Christmas cake next door.
Still in Knight Street, you can buy fresh locally-sourced vegetables, hot and cold drinks and food to cook yourself or eat straight away and basic necessities as well as a raft of services at Cross Bros, one of the biggest and best Spar shops for miles.
You can post your Christmas parcels at the village post office and take your pick of three excellent hairdressers – In Trim unisex hair and beauty salon, the Killenaule salon for hair and beauty and Pedro’s barber shop for both men and women.
Not far away at Birchgrove Garden Centre on the Surfleet Road you’ll find a huge range of collectable Christmas gifts and country clothing as well as a choice of Christmas trees and holly wreaths.
When the Christmas shopping’s done, why not pop into The Ship at Pinchbeck in Northgate beside the river Glen for a drink and some great pub grub?
