Performing arts student Inca Honnor has dreamed of being Spalding Flower Queen ever since she was a little girl watching the parade go by with her family.
Just 17, the teenager from Millgate, Whaplode St Catherine, is all too aware this will be her last chance.
Inca, who attends St John Gleed Post-16 Centre in Spalding and hopes to have a dancing career in the West End, said: “I’ve watched the parade in Halmer Gate every year with my family just waiting to be old enough to be Flower Queen.
“I would love to represent the town in this way and be able to say I was once Flower Queen – especially as it is the last year. That would be a real achievement.”
You could be part of history by being the last person ever to be crowned Spalding Flower Queen and take your place atop a magnificent floral float as the parade winds its way through the town’s streets for the final time on Saturday, May 4.
To enter you need to be aged 17 or over, live in South Holland and fill in the coupon in the Lincolnshire Free Press every Tuesday.Preliminary interviews will be at Tulip Radio on Thursday, March 7, and five finalists will be invited to a reception at Ayscoughfee Hall on March 15, where the winner will be crowned.
Closing date for entries is Thursday, February 28.
