A South Holland district councillor is calling for members to be given updates on talks on the fate of Spalding’s Sir Halley Stewart Field.
Developers Corbo are said to have had 20 meetings with district council chiefs over the possible development of a new shopping complex there.
Members of the council – acting as a single body – are trustees of the field and Coun Angela Newton wanted to know from council leader Gary Porter why members had been given no news on the plans.
Coun Gary Porter said: “Because there’s nothing yet to report to the trustees.”
Coun Newton asked: “There’s been about 20 meetings and out of those meetings nothing’s come?”
