A Sutton Bridge parish councillor will voice objections to a £300million to £350million biomass power station when South Holland’s planning committee meets to decide the application.
EnergyPark Sutton Bridge wants to build the power station on industrial land at Wingland, but the parish council is concerned about a range of issues including its potential impact on air quality.
The developers claim air going out of the five, 80 metre high double chimneys will be cleaner than the air going in, but the parish council isn’t convinced.
Coun Gary Croxford told Tuesday’s parish council meeting: “I find it incredible that they are telling us air quality isn’t going to be affected when it’s not even built yet.”
The parish council’s case will be made at the planning committee by Coun Jenny Rowe, a former district councillor and planning committee member.
