Bargain supermarket Lidl is planning a major revamp of its store in Spalding’s Winsover Centre.
The company declined to say how much the refurbishment works will cost, but it has submitted a planning application to South Holland District for a new glazed entrance and exit lobby, a new glazed shop front, signs and trolley bay.
A small number of car parking spaces will be lost if the works go ahead, but the company says its customers will benefit from a lighter and brighter shopping environment.
Lidl property director Robert Beaumont said the company is ready to start work as soon as it gets consent.
The majority of the alterations are internal ones, including new flooring, a suspended ceiling and chillers.
Mr Beaumont said: “There will be more natural light going into the store, making it a better shopping experience for our customers.”
