Bosses of a planned Spanish-English bilingual free school in Spalding put on an information day for parents at Pinchbeck supermarket Morrisons.
Among them was the new school’s headteacher Jamile Sherrick, who said around 50 parents gave expressions of interest in the free school which is due to open in September next year.
The school will be run by the Phoenix Federation, which is based at Boston’s Park Academy where Mrs Sherrick is currently assistant head.
Mrs Sherrick said: “We will be the first non-fee paying school in the UK to teach children all subjects in two languages.”
Experts say children who learn in two languages do better educationally and achieve more in the world of work.
The federation hopes to be given the final go ahead for the school by the Department for Education in April.
