Residents in South Holland are being urged to report instances of rough sleeping in the district.
Although no firm evidence of street homelessness was found during the district council’s latest sweep, it relies heavily on information from the public and partner agencies to locate people in need.
Housing officers checked several locations where there have been reported problems and people are being asked to let the council know so it can help give those who may be in need some assistance.
Portfolio holder for housing, Coun Christine Lawton: “Where we can identify rough sleepers, we can look at offering them options for more suitable accommodation.
“We are committed to preventing homelessness so we want to help get people off the streets or from sleeping rough elsewhere.”
Anyone spotting evidence of rough sleeping should contact 0800 0665365.
