Police arrested a crime victim when he went to tell them he had been robbed at knife-point.

Nicholas Carter (27) went to Bourne Police Station where officers found a small amount of cannabis in his rucksack.

Paul Wood, prosecuting, said police checked his rucksack to see if there was anything inside that the robber may have been looking for.

Carter, of High Crescent, Casterton, was conditionally discharged for a year by Spalding magistrates when he admitted possessing the class B drug. He must pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

Solicitor Rachel Stevens said Carter rarely uses the drug but he’s had three bereavements in a short space of time and “this has been his way of coping”.
