Villagers will get the first glimpse of provisional plans for up to 14 new homes in Pinchbeck.
Pinchbeck Community Land Trust (CLT), which was set up in April 2012 to provide affordable homes, is holding an open day on Tuesday to bring everyone bang up-to-date with its progress.
Representatives of the developer, Westleigh Developments Ltd, and Lincs Rural Housing Association, which will manage the homes, will be on hand to answer questions and unveil the plans for the two and three bedroom homes.
They will be built on land off Flaxmill Lane after the CLT set the ball rolling on the purchase of one and a quarter acres of land from Pinchbeck Parish Council.
The plan will also include an attractive green space for use by the tenants of the new homes, which will be available for 80 per cent of the average market rental.
The open day will be held at Pinchbeck Library, Knight Street, from 2pm to 8pm, and members of the Community Land Trust will also be on hand to talk about its aims for the future.
The trust is made up of volunteers and since its inception last April members have steered the fledgling group through a raft of Government regulations and have applied for grants to help pay for the community project.
It is now registered as a Community Benefit Society, which means all income from the homes will be used to benefit the community.
Steve Colby, chairman of the trust, said: “We all remain volunteers, with no personal gain, and we are still intent on helping Pinchbeck, both East and West.
“In the future this might mean running allotments or other local amenities.”
The open day will give residents the chance to give feedback on the provisional plans.
Other agencies will also be consulted to provide a “workable and attractive” plan for the development.
Residents will also be invited to buy a £1 share in the trust, which will give them a vote at the annual meeting.
