People with mental health issues in South Holland and Bourne will soon have access to a new service as part of a county plan to improve residents’ well-being.
A Single Point of Access team offering mental health and psychological assessment is being rolled out across the county this month and will open up in this area from June 30.
It comes as Lincolnshire County Council encourages people to think more about mental health throughout their lives with an online survey that will be used to develop a new strategy to tackle the issue which affects about one in four people in the UK every year.
Richard Cumbers, the council’s programme manager for healthier communities, said: “When we set out our public health priorities for Lincolnshire, mental health was a consistent theme across all areas and throughout people’s lives.
“A draft strategy has been put together after initial discussions with support organisations and those who use mental health services, but now we’d like to hear your views on how we’re proposing to reduce mental health issues in the county.”
