Police are warning Spalding residents to step up security following a spate of burglaries.
Homes in Wygate Park, Pennygate and Park Road are among those targeted by thieves, mostly when residents have been away.
Spalding police inspector Jim Tyner said: “If residents are going away for a few days, I would urge them to take crime prevention measures such as putting lights on timers or asking a trusted friend or relative to open and close curtains.
“Try to limit access to the rear of your property by locking side gates.”
Insp Tyner said the burglaries have included homes in Wygate Meadows, Shire Avenue, Sorrel Drive, Railway Close and Hereward Road.
He is also asking residents to be good neighbours and report crime.
Insp Tyner said: “If you know your neighbours are away, please keep an eye on their property and report anything suspicious on 101. If you think there is a burglary in progress, you should always call 999.”
Crimes can also be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
