Fleet & District Country Show has a new element to it this year, A Companion Dog Show.
The open produce show has classes for vegetables and fruit, flowers, home (preserves and baking), a Victoria sponge challenge, and children’s classes.
The dog show will have a number of pedigree and novelty classes.
Entry forms are available from Holbeach Horticultural Society chairman Sue Anderson on 01406 366410, or pick one up at Fleet Post Office or at Limmings in Holbeach.
The show is on Sunday, September 1 (10am to 5pm) at Battleford Hall, Fleet. Admission is £1 adults, children free. Classes are £1/50p for dog/produce shows.
• Holbeach Horticultural Society meets on the first Thursday of the month at the William Stukeley School, Holbeach (7pm for 7.30pm). Call Sue if you would like to attend.
• Fleet Preservation Trust was formed in 2008 when St Mary Magdalene Church appealed for help in running the annual flower festival. It has given money to the church, the school and other local good causes. The show is one of a number of events organised through the year.
