Tim Clark’s other interests

Education has been a big part of Spalding High School headmaster Tim Clark’s life for about 26 years, but other things are important to him.

The son of a clergyman, Tim played the organ at his father’s church from being small. He is now assistant organist at St Mary & St Nicolas Church in Spalding, an important part of his life, and Tim has enjoyed working with organist Nick Pitts and Eric Wayman, who supports the choir.

It’s something he will continue doing in the short term, at least until he sells his house.

The other important strand to his life is politics. Tim says: “My ambition always was to be an MP. I stood for parliament in 2005 against David Blunkett for the Conservatives.

“I feel the Conservative party and politics in general would benefit from having people who work in the public sector, who have a real understanding of education and public services.

“I remain very interested in politics and perhaps one day the opportunity will be there.”
