Celebrity chef James Martin has thrown his support behind the #BackBritishFarming campaign.
The presenter of BBC’s Saturday Kitchen signed the campaign’s charter while visiting NFU President Peter Kendall in London.
James said: “I was a pig farmer for 23 years and I make sure I serve British food in all of my restaurants.”
James currently runs his own restaurant inside The Talbot Hotel in his hometown of Malton in Yorkshire.
And on September 26 he is set to open his new restaurant, James Martin Manchester, in the Manchester235 Casino.
More than 1,400 people have signed the #BackBritishFarming charter, calling on Government, retailers, the food industry and the general public to do their bit for the future of the industry.
