Dragons’ Den winner Andy Harsley will be reversing roles when he comes to Spalding later this month.

Andy, who invented the Rapstrap, will be judging the Make Your Pitch competition at the Family Enterprise Day at Springfields Events Centre on Sunday, September 29.

Community interest company Foundations’ director Lynda Phillips said: “We’re absolutely delighted that Andy agreed to be a dragon in our Make Your Pitch competition.

“Because of his experience of appearing on the BBC programme he will be perfect for his new role.”

Andy was invited to demonstrate the Rapstrap to five of the UK’s leading entrepreneurs.

The Rapstrap impressed the panel, securing the assistance of multimillionaire Dragons Duncan Bannatyne and James Caan.

The Family Enterprise Day Make Your Pitch competition is open to all ages.

All applications will be considered, no matter how crazy, funny or downright impractical – flying pigs, moon kites or teddy bear robots – it doesn’t matter how ill-prepared, because any idea will be considered by the Make Your Pitch Dragons.

The winning pitch will get an Ipad mini.

Throughout the day there will be entertainment for the whole family.

Act II Theatre Company will be performing A Spoonful of Sugar and there will be live performances by bands Alfie Jack and Jack Harrison.

Indoor and outdoor activities have been arranged throughout the day.

Boston College will be running hairdressing and nail art competitions. They will also be turning up with a learning bus with video presentation, a driving simulator time competition and pit stop challenge.

Families can also get involved by having a go at running a business for the day.

Money can be made in the Test Trading area.

A family day out will be awarded to the winning family.

Lynda added: “There are families with a huge amount of entrepreneurial talent in South Holland but who are not too sure how to make a start.

“The Family Enterprise Day will be fun all the way and is aimed at breaking down barriers to inspire people into realising that anything is possible in life and to think about running their own business.

“We hope that having the chance to rub shoulders with an actual Dragons’ Den winner will be a motivating factor.”

Families are urged to get their applications for the Make Your Pitch and Family Trading competitions in as soon as possible to avoid disappointment either via www.familyenterpriseday.co.uk or Facebook page.
