A group of young people are being given the opportunity to gain afirst hand insight into the world of work.
They will gain advice from industry experts on the key skills that will help them find work when they join Bakkavor Spalding and Wingland Foods in the food industry initiative Feeding Britain’s Future – Skills for Work Month during September.
Working in partnership with Jobcentre Plus, Bakkavor’s Lincolnshire sites are holding a half-day workshop to give local youngsters the opportunity to develop their employability skills and improve their chances of getting a job.
The workshop will include:
l gaining insight into the UK Food Industry and how it operates
l CV writing
l interview techniques
Bakkavor Spalding and Wingland Foods represent part of a group of Bakkavor businesses taking part in the national Feeding Britain’s Future campaign, which has united the entire food and grocery industry in an effort to tackle youth unemployment.
During Skills for Work Month businesses across the industry’s supply chain will be opening their doors to provide free skills training for thousands of young unemployed people across Great Britain.
Feeding Britain’s Future is the first initiative of its kind, giving young people access to farms, factories and stores, and firsthand knowledge of the skills needed for a career in the food industry or elsewhere.
