Barclays bank at Long Sutton is fully repaired just over year on from the day ram raiders left a real hole in the wall where the cashpoint was.
Thieves used a teleporter in a smash and grab while a bank at Wisbech was raided in almost the same way around the same time.
The Long Sutton bank is a listed building and Barclays bosses had to source highly specific materials for the repairs – such as replacement bricks that had to undergo an ageing process to ensure a match as close as possible to the existing brickwork.
Windows smashed in the raid had to be specially manufactured for the building.
Branch manager Arron Green said: “We would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding while we have worked hard to complete all the building works and install the new cash machine.”
