A special meeting of South Holland District Council will take place on Thursday to appoint an interim chief executive.
The post has become vacant after Luton Borough Council served notice to end the “loan” of Trevor Holden as interim chief executive for South Holland and Breckland.
A shortlist of three possible replacements was drawn up and members of the council will be asked to conside rthe appointment of Geoff Rivers for a period of five months – from October 4 until March 3, 2014.
The contract would also allow an extension to the appointment.
The cost of the appointment will be shared between South Holland and Breckland as part of its shared management arrangement.
Mr Holden will be in post until October 9 to allow for a handover period.
