A man who was nearly three times over the legal alcohol limit when he crashed a car near his home had never passed a driving test.
Krzysztof Nowak (21), of Low Road, Holbeach Hurn, admitting driving with excess alcohol, without a driving licence and without insurance on October 19 when he appeared before Spalding magistrates on Thursday.
Jim Clare, prosecuting, said Nowak drove a Citroen Xsara into a ditch and a later breath test showed 94 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath, the legal limit being 35 microgrammes.
Rachel Stevens, mitigating, said Nowak had been on a “short test drive” on a slippery road after working on the car for a family member but he knew he shouldn’t have driven before passing a test.
The case was adjourned until November 28 for a probation report to be done.
