Anglian Water says it will finish roadworks work at the junction of Spalding’s Pinchbeck Road and Woolram Wygate by tomorrow (Tuesday) evening.
The work follows repairs to a burst sewer on Christmas Eve.
Initially, each of two double lanes at the Pinchbeck Road traffic lights were reduced to one, but then the lights were replaced by some temporary lights with single-way working.
A spokesman for Anglian Water said the company at first intended to do a temporary repair to the road surface – coming back at a later date – but then it was decided to do a permanent repair.
The spokesman said the work had gone on longer than anticipated because of a delay in obtaining materials, including tarmac, during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
