BREAKING NEWS 5.15PM: Two girls, both aged 11, have been seriously injured after a vehicle collided with them on the A15 in Thurlby today.
The girls are being treated for what police describe as “potentially serious head injuries” after the accident on Main Road shortly before 4pm.
Paramedics are treating the girls at the scene and they are then expected to be taken to hospital, but there are no further details about the extent of their injuries.
The road is likely to be closed for a “significant period of time” and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “We were called to the scene at 3.53pm today after a report that a vehicle had collided with two 11-year-old girls.
“They were both pedestrains and are currently being treated for potentially serious head injuries.
“The girls wil be taken to hospital as soon as possible and the A15 Main Road at Thurlby will be closed for a significant period of time.”
