While I have to agree with John Ward’s comment that we are continually bombarded with charity advertisements, what I consider borders on the obscene is his suggestion that locals should fund a ‘Save Spalding’ charity rather than contributing their hard earned cash to the likes of Oxfam, Help for Heroes, Save the Children and Doctors Without Borders.
What I also find galling is that some consider it’s more important to fund animal charities rather than those that strive to alleviate human suffering.
Saving a donkey rather than a starving child? Now that is obscene.
Some people really do need to re-evaluate the direction of their moral compass.
