More transformation is likely to happen in the UK farming industry in the next ten years that we have seen in the past 50.
That is the prediction of the chairman of a key farming conference.
Julian Gairdner, Oxford Farming Conference 2014 chairman, said: “The industry needs to be prepared to adopt new systems, structures and partner investors who understand agriculture.”
A conference report stated the industry should be open to changes in land management, rather than being “wedded” to owning farmland.
