UPDATE FRIDAY 5PM: A man has been taken to hospital after a crash involving a car and pick-up truck on the A17 in Swineshead today.
It involved a Volkswagen Passat and Ford Transit flatbed pick-up which crashed on Station Road, near the junction with Boardsides and Langrick Road, at about 12.35pm.
The man was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, with as yet unconfirmed injuries and no details have been released as to his age and where he is from.
Police have closed the road in both directions while highway engineers travel to the scene to clear away oil and battery acid spillage.
There are currently reports of traffic congestion on Boardsides and Langrick Road, near Bicker Bar roundabout.
FRIDAY 2.30PM: A car and pick-up truck have crashed on the A17 in Swineshead today.
It happened on Station Road where a Volkswagen Passat and truck carrying oil crashed at 12.35pm.
The road is currently closed in both directions between the A1121 Boardsides junction and Bicker Bar roundabout, while highways engineers clear up oil spillage.
There is no report as yet of any injuries.
