A new video about the dangers of loan sharks and doorstep lenders is being launched in Lincolnshire this weekend.
The film, made by arts charity Cultural Solutions UK and Blueprint Films, is being promoted by Lincolnshire Credit Union (LincUp) from Saturday at access points, including St Paul’s Church, Spalding, and the Market House, Long Sutton.
Producers have made the film using both English and Russian with the backing of LincUp, Lincolnshire Trading Standards and the England Illegal Money Lending team.
David Lambert, director of Cultural Solutions UK, said: “The arts have a pivotal role to play in social and economic regeneration and our work in Lincolnshire and the East Midlands sees us come into contact with many vulnerable communities.
“We have enjoyed working with LincUp, the British and Russian communities of Lincolnshire on the research and development of the film which tells it straight.”
Tony Quigley, head of England Illegal Money Lending Team, said: “This is a despicable crime which causes nothing but harm to our communities, with many people subjected to threats, violence or other callous enforcement methods.“
