A LORRY driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a fatal accident at Swineshead Bridge on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the accident on the A17 at 1.50pm after a collision involving four vehicles.
A 45 year-old man from Newark, who was the driver of a white Vauxhall Combo van, died at the scene. The other vehicles were a black Fiat Doblo, a heavy goods vehicle and a red Honda Civic.
The driver of the HGV, a 51 year-old Lincoln man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has since been released on police bail until June 14.
The driver of the Doblo was a 25 year-old woman from Pontefract and the driver of the Civic was a 63 year-old Boston man. They attended Boston Pilgrim hospital but are not believed to have been seriously injured.
