After a brief closure, one of Spalding’s oldest licensed premises re-opens this week following a substantial investment by its owners Greene King.
A completely new layout welcomes customers to the ‘new look’ Pied Calf in Sheep Market, Spalding, with a more traditional but modern feel replacing the outdated circular shaped bar.
With the new look comes a fresh new range of wines and spirits, together with a wider range of bottled beers and cask-conditioned ales. It doesn’t stop there – with all of this comes a new food menu specifically designed to entice those on a local shopping spree and those looking for somewhere to get great food at a great price for their lunch break.
“We are looking to welcome customers old and new into the Pied Calf. We have tried to give the pub a more up-to-date feel to what is a very traditional building and make it a comfortable environment for people to enjoy our new food offering,” said Chris Tremain, business development manager for the Bury St Edmunds-based brewery.
“Too often businesses are transformed with no consideration as to their history or heritage. That’s not the case here. The Pied Calf offers a broad spectrum of products and services to everyone in the town centre and its continued focus on key sporting events makes it the number one choice for great food, great beer and the warmest of welcomes for all occasions.”
The Pied Calf re-opens its doors on tomorrow (Friday) at 11am. Breakfast is served from 9.30am on a Tuesday and Saturday with plans to extend this through the week. Last drinks are served at 11pm each day except Friday and Saturday where the terminal hour is midnight.
