APRIL showers are continuing to sweep across south Lincolnshire, despite the ongoing hosepipe ban to combat drought conditions.
Weather recorder Nicholas Watts, of Deeping St Nicholas, has recorded a total of 58mm of rain falling on ten days this month.
He said: “58mm is well above the average rain for April but the rain we have had would not have started to replenish the underground supplies yet.”
Restrictions were imposed by Anglian Water following 18 of the driest months on record.
The hosepipe ban is the company’s first in more than 20 years, and the firm has said it will continue for as long as necessary until reserves are back to normal levels.
