NHS LINCOLNSHIRE says GP surgeries are open today and expect minimal disruption to patients by striking doctors belonging to The British Medical Association.
Emergency and urgent care will continue to be provided at hospitals, including Pilgrim at Boston.
Some doctors across the country are downing tools for 24 hours over “unfair changes” to the NHS pension scheme.
But Spalding’s Munro Medical Centre is working normally and partner Dr Graham Wheatley said he and his colleagues decided it was “completely pointless” to inconvenience patients when “our beef is with the Government”.
County NHS bosses conceded some hospital appointments will be postponed with patients given advance notice.
NHS Lincolnshire chief executive John McIvor said: “The NHS in Lincolnshire is working to minimise any impact to patient care as a result of the planned BMA industrial strike.”
He said patients needing treatment today for minor illnesses and injuries can go to their local pharmacy and anyone who is unsure what to do can get advice by dialling the NHS 111 number.
Mr McIvor added: “Remember A&E stands for Accident and Emergency, not Anything and Everything.”
