POLICE in Spalding want to arrest a sneak-thief who stole two purses from an elderly woman’s home on Friday.
The thief entered the home in the town’s Queens Road at about 8pm when the back door was left unlocked.
He stole the purses, which contained cash, from drawers in the kitchen.
Police say a neighbour saw a man in the victim’s garden that evening and officers would now like to speak to him.
The man is described as short. He wore dark clothing including a baseball cap and had a small backpack.
A police spokesman said: “We are reminding all residents of the importance of keeping doors secure and ensuring that, when windows are open in the fine weather, valuables are not left within easy reach.”
l Witnesses are asked to call police on 101 or report information anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
