artists and actors at Bourne Academy have been displaying their skills in celebration of receiving a national arts award.
Art exhibitions, drama productions and music events all took place at the academy last term after it was awarded the Artsmark award for promoting and encouraging artistic expression among its students.
Youngsters from years nine and 12 had the chance to work with Barnack artist Fenella Beauchamp who helped them produce a colourful collection of images reflecting plants and flowers.
Students also visited the Tate Modern Gallery in London and the annual New Designers’ exhibition, while youngsters studying for GCSE and BTEC qualifications exhibited masks, drama and African drumming as part of a cultural project at the academy.
Head of expressive and creative arts Liz Dyer said: “The Artsmark award was given in recognition of our commitment to and excellence in providing exciting arts experiences and our belief in the power of creativity.”
