THE parents of a former Spalding High School head girl have paid a moving tribute to their daughter who has died aged 39.

Candida Hill, described as a “very loving daughter” by parents David and Jane Hill, passed away in Switzerland two weeks ago after a four-year fight with a high-grade brain tumour.

Married with three children, Candida was born in Lutton Vicarage and moved with her family to Pinchbeck where her father was a vicar for 17 years.

She left Spalding High School in 1990 to study law at Sheffield University and after law school in Chester, Candida worked for the BBC and the Home Office.

After extensive treatment at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, Candida eventually moved to the USA and Switzerland where she spent her last few weeks in a Geneva hospice.

Mrs Hill said: “Candida was a very loving daughter and family member who would do anything for her parents, brother and sisters.

“She was very focused and bright, a very adventurous girl in her teenage years and challenged herself in everything she did.

“Even though she was ill, Candida took up wall climbing in Geneva and became a natural at it.

“Candida just lived life to the full and had a great sense of humour, but she was also a deep thinker and very devoted mother.”

As a child, Candida enjoyed gymnastics and dancing before becoming an accomplished musician, playing in both the Lincolnshire Youth and Law Society Orchestras.

Mrs Hill said: “We couldn’t have wanted a more loving, caring and fulfilled
daughter.”
