SPRINGFIELDS Festival Gardens has joined the exclusive list of parks and green spaces that have been given the Green Flag Award for 2012/13.
Head gardener Andy Boyton said: “Achieving the award at the first attempt is the result of a lot of hard work and we are delighted.”
The Green Flag Award scheme is the benchmark national standard for parks and green spaces in the UK.
The festival gardens in Spalding joins a garden among the gravestones and a nature reserve created from the soil of the Channel Tunnel, as one of the record number of 1,424 UK sites receiving a Green Flag Award.
