A free Staying Safe advice session is being held at the new Holbeach Hub in Boston Road South on Friday.
The session, at 2pm, will be run by retired Lincolnshire Police detective Stuart Gibbon.
Mr Gibbon, who now runs his own crime prevention and security consultancy, has been invited by district councillor Tracey Carter to give a talk on issues such as bogus callers, rogue traders, home security and personal safety.
Coun Carter said: “Scams are very prevalent at this time of year, so myself, Couns Francis Biggadike and Nick Worth have decided to put something together with Stuart.
“The advice session is about an hour long and includes a couple of short films, along with a question and answer session.
“We want anyone who feels they’ll benefit from Stuart’s advice to attend, as well as community groups to whom Staying Safe may be of interest. In general, this area of the country is very safe but we are aware of a number of vulnerable residents who live here.
“That’s why there’s no charge to attend Staying Safe and we’ll even have tea and coffee as well.”
