TRANSPORT firms from across the area are invited to join a new forum.
Nick Hay, managing director of Fowler Welch, has invited 50 firms to the inaugural meeting on January 19.
South Holland and District Logistics Forum will discuss issues facing the sector and act as a collective voice in lobbying politicians and Government departments.
Nick Gallop, of Intermodality, will give an update on the proposed Deeping St Nicholas rail freight hub at the first meeting which will be a breakfast-style event at Sage Restaurant in the Red Lion Quarter. There will be a question and answer session along with networking opportunities.
Mr Hay will chair the meeting but it is envisaged the role of chair will rotate in subsequent meetings.
The speaker for the second meeting will be Dr Nick Cheffins, talking about the merits of bio gas as an additional form of fuel to haulage and logistics firms.
