Sports leaders of the future have emerged at Sir John Gleed School where the success of its students in training for future employment in the sports industry has been celebrated.
About 115 students were presented with Sports Leaders UK Awards certificates after the school achieved a 100 per cent success rate on the course that is recognised by employers in the sports and leisure industry.
The course required students to plan, run and supervise sporting festivals involving primary schools in South Holland, train in first aid and complete sport-related work experience placements.
Teacher Ian Billinghurst said: “The students’ work was regarded, both for its quality and quantity, as some of the best Sports Leaders UK had ever seen and we are very proud of that fact.”
