The kitchen is still very much the hub o f the house, and the room which people focus on first when looking to improve their home.
That’s the experie nce of Spalding family firm County Interiors, set up 30 years ago as a kitchen design andinstallation service that’s widened out to deal with bathrooms, bedrooms and lighting as well.
The company’s trade remains concentrated 60 percent on kitchens with about 30 percent on bathrooms .
James Bryan, who joined his parents Steve and Gill and brother Nick in the business nine years ago, said: “Quite a few of our customers are extending their kitchens to make them into living room or dining kitchens.
“Nearly everyone loves the idea of spending more time in the kitchen as the most important room in the house.
“Some customers have chosen to build an extension to make their kitchen bigger, others have been knocking through walls to achieve the same effect.
“People come to our showroom in Wardentree Lane, Pinchbeck to browse. We’ll do a free consultation at their house, and then as soon as they have planning commission we can design in detail and in eight weeks from orders being placed we can install their new kitchen.”
